The 15 Largest Things in the Universe

Insignificant. I can’t think of a better single word to describe what learning about the universe makes us feel like. Carl Sagan said it best when he stated that "astronomy is a humbling and character building experience", and that in the vast scale of the universe, "we have good reason for humility." Fear is a base emotional and physical reaction programmed into us and our ancestors for eons specifically intended to keep us alive. You’ve certainly felt this overwhelming dread before, it may have been while you were home alone and heard an unrecognizable sound from another room, perhaps you felt as if you were being watched, or you suddenly realized just how vulnerable you are alone in the d...
15 Most Poisonous Animals on Earth

In comparison to venomous animals, poisonous animals are far and few between. It turns out having to get halfway eaten before potentially harming a predator isn’t an incredibly popular adaptation in the animal world. But the animals who managed to stick it out utilize some of the most lethal toxins on the planet, some even eclipsing what even the most venomous animals in the world are capable o...

Perhaps the most common fear that all humans share is the fear of venomous animals. In fact, the fear of spiders and snakes are the two most commonplace phobias. Usually this fear is misplaced as the vast majority of snakes and spiders are completely harmless, however, I’m afraid that this video won’t help abate any fears you currently hold. Some of you may end up avoiding certain parts of the ...

Love, guilt, pity, and remorse. All of these are part of the normal range of emotions that the average person feels. The pathological mind of someone compelled to abduct, sexually abuse, kill, and mutilate is almost impossible for most of us to comprehend. Why is it then that are we so fascinated by gruesome serial killers? (You did click on this video after all). Maybe we fear the unknown, or ...

Bro Istfg, there's nothing that triggers me more than people, or sorces using "poison/poisonous" rather than "venom/venomous". "This snake is poisonous" BRO STFU, IT'S VENOMOUS😂 (Unless it's actually poisonous, such as the tiger keelback snake)

I love the clarification at the beginning. I remember being taught in Biology class that poison can affect you no matter how it comes into contact. However, venom must be injected so it can travel through the bloodstream undiluted. For example, you could drink cobra venom and it wouldn't kill you like it would if it was poison from a tree frog.

The worst part of living in Australia is the grief you get from the missus if you are not keen on doing some gardening. You suit up in metal brail from head to toe and stealthily wander the garden trying not to disturb any lurking critters, and making sure the wife can see you do it. You avoid any brush, leaves or grass in case of hidden snakes and spiders then suddenly rush back inside closing the door behind you whilst panting with exhaustion. Hit the fridge for a beer and if the wife doesnt thank you, get another one. Dont let anyone fool you, It is pure hell out there, especially on the weekends when the nastiest ones are out on the prowl. Much safer in front of the tv with a beer.

That is complete horseshit. It is flat, dry, hot and just about everything wants to kill you. Latest estimates put it at 1 tourist in 4 never goes home. Europe is full of mouldy and musty old crap, the people speak funny languages, and they struggle to make a decent cup of coffee for less than 10 dollars...but at least you get to return home.
